Mrs. Black
Hi Everyone!
I joined Learning Way Elementary in 2020 (WHAT A YEAR)! I love working with the Kindergarten Team!
My career in Education began with Early Intervention in 2002 where I worked with toddlers with varying developmental needs. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Technological University in 2009. I taught Kindergarten for 5 years, and in 2019 I received my Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University. While studying Behavior Analysis, I worked with children on the Autism Spectrum. I have taught many different age groups with a variety educational needs and I love to see growth in each of my students. My favorite thing is watching the exciting moments when a student learns to read!
My husband, Randy, and I have been married for 35 years. We have one daughter, Delaina, and in 2020 we gained a son-in-law, Brandon.
While I'm not at school, I love spending time with my family, cooking, and reading. I love nothing more than gathering with my extended family and enjoying their goofy shenanigans! So much FUN! I look forward to a great year as we grow and learn together!
