About Me

Hi, and welcome to my teacher page! My name is Mrs. Desiree Hays, and I am one of the ESL teachers at Learning Way. I graduated high school at Cheatham County High School in Tennessee. I moved to Murfreesboro to attend MTSU where I earned my BA in English and my BS in Elementary Education. I continued my education at Vanderbilt University where I earned my Teaching English as a Second Language certification. Most recently, I earned my Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction at Western Governors University. I have taught in both private and public schools in middle Tennessee since 2014. I am so excited to continue my teaching journey here at Learning Way! I absolutely adore working with ESL students to help them develop their English language skills, and I love learning about their language and culture. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and traveling with my husband, visiting with my 2 grown stepchildren, hanging out with my 2 dogs and cat, gardening, and reading. I look forward to another excellent year at Learning Way!
