This past Saturday, the #ShelbyvilleCentralHighSchool Golden Eagles marching band competed at the Eagle Invitational at Northeast High School in Clarksville and delivered a show-stopping performance! 💙💛

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ Future healthcare heroes inspiring the next generation! 💙

Recently, #ShelbyvilleCentralHighSchool HOSA #students partnered with #EakinElementarySchool 1st graders for the 2nd year of learning about the human body unit. 🧠💓

The high school students led hands-on lessons that introduced 1st graders to the human body and healthcare careers, including:
1️⃣ Practicing CPR ❤️‍🩹
2️⃣ Finding a pulse & listening to a heartbeat with a stethoscope 🩺
3️⃣ Exploring healthcare careers, medical tools and anatomy on X-rays 🦴

This partnership gave these first grade students an exciting opportunity to explore the human body up close, while #HOSA students gained valuable experience mentoring and sharing their passion for #healthcare. 🌟

🥚🔬 Biology in Action at Shelbyville Central High School!🔬🥚

Recently, #students in instructor Justin Theodos' Biology classroom at #ShelbyvilleCentralHighSchool explored cell transport using whole eggs! First, they placed eggs in a liquid to remove the shell, creating shell-less eggs that act like real cells with selectively permeable membranes. Over several days, students placed the eggs in different liquids and measured changes in weight and circumference to see how substances move across the membrane—just like in real cells.📏⚖️

Through this hands-on experiment, students witnessed osmosis💧—the movement of water from areas of high concentration to low—and diffusion, where substances naturally spread out. They learned how these processes help maintain balance in living organisms. 🔬

Experiments like this make biology tangible, exciting and unforgettable!🔍🧪 They also encourage students to ask questions, make predictions and think like real scientists—skills that will last a lifetime.

The Levitt AMP Music Series is a 🌟 national program 🌟 that helps towns like ours transform public spaces into gathering places filled with music🎶, fun🎈, and community spirit❤️. Families, neighbors and friends of all ages will be able to come together and enjoy live performances right here in Bedford County!
