About Mrs. Gilmer

My career as an educator began at Harris Middle School in January of 2013. While at Harris, I taught both 7th and 8th grade science, as well as coaching girls' soccer, volleyball, softball, and cheer for many years. I joined the administration team at Harris in January of 2020 and served in that role until the end of the 2022 school year.

 I was born in Phoenix, AZ and grew up in Westminster, Colorado. My family moved to Chattanooga, TN in the Fall of 1999, where I finished my K-12 schooling and graduated from Hixson High School in 2008. I attended MTSU for my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, for 4th-8th grade Science and was a majorette with the MTSU Band of Blue. After teaching for a few years, I received my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Carson-Newman University. My husband, Ryan, and I reside in Manchester with our daughter, Landrie, and son, Slayden. As a family, we love watching the Vols, Braves, Titans, and Lakers, as well as being outside as much as possible.

I am very excited to be a Little Eagle and serve an amazing group of educators, parents, and students here at Learning Way.
