About Me

I grew up in a military family, and we lived in many places by the time I graduated high school, including England, Germany, and Italy.  I graduated from MTSU in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Geoscience (Geology) and a minor in Plant and Soil Science.  Let's say I like dirt, pretty rocks, and things that make the rocks!  I've worked for the military, volunteered for a pet rescue network in Kansas and Missouri, and have been a receptionist at the local veterinary hospitals.  Most recently, I was an Assistant at Thomas Magnet and started teaching at Learning Way in 2022.  Science is my passion and watching children make new discoveries, and seeing their enlightenment is my greatest reward.

I love gummy bears, anything peppermint, and caramel!  You’ll find me drinking coffee or Sprite Zero while watching a movie on tv, watching baseball, or college football.  I read time-travel novels, good mysteries, and love listening to my 80’s music!  Being organized and using my time efficiently are important, and I expect this to carry into my classroom to my students.  I am blessed to have one son who is in the Fourth grade, but at another school in town.
